Majozi Releases New Single Ahead Of Performance @ SXSW

Two years since the release of his last official single, South African darling Majozi has a brand new offering, entitled “Safe In The Sound”.

Over the course of the last two years, Majozi has featured on various collaborations with the likes of Janie Bay, Neon Dreams, Straatligkinders and Easy Freak. “Safe In The Sound” is the first single from his upcoming new album, set for release during the course of 2023.

Majozi narrates the last few years of his life as journeying through the peaks and valleys of existence on earth – from starting a wonderful new relationship, getting married and navigating the joys of sharing a life with someone, to also dealing with the emotions of being creative, self doubt and regular imposter syndrome. Now he is finally ready to release some brand new music to fans who have been waiting patiently.

He started working on “Safe In The Sound” midway through 2022, a single he describes as one of those songs which feels as if he didn’t write it, but rather was lucky enough to discover it and write what was already there but not realised to the world yet.

“I have my own idea what the song is about, but to be honest I’d love people to write their own stories and meanings to the song. This song isn’t just my song. It’s yours too.”

“Safe In The Sound” is a heartfelt and hopeful offering similar to the signature Majozi music fans have come to love in the past, but with an element which will make the listener want to rise and hover in the air with lightness. In his heart, Majozi felt that this was the perfect choice as first single from his new album.

With two EPs (Marvelous Light in 2013) & Mountains in 2015), and two full length albums (Fire in 2016 & Majozi in 2018) to his name, Majozi is excited to take listeners on an epic journey this year with brand new, different music. His third album will be released through a monthly song and in 3 parts over the course of 2023.

Majozi is currently in America to fulfil a lifelong dream and will be performing as one of the Showcasing Artists at the prestigious, world renowned 2023 SXSW Music Festival.

As South African, he will be joining other artists from across the globe ranging from up-and-comers to veterans of the worldwide music industry.
