Nic Jeffrey takes a step in a new and exciting direction though with his latest single, “Goodbye”. Combining elements of indie-pop, infused with electropop and EDM, the song is both chilled and upbeat at the same time – making it perfect for a Friday night party, a calm Sunday afternoon drive, or even a mid-week pick-me-up.

As the name suggests, the song is about a failing relationship and the need to walk away from it, summed up by the chorus lines: “nobody can save us, time to get out”. However, whilst the meaning behind “Goodbye” is disheartening Nic contrasts this against eclectic guitars, energized vocals, and a vibey EDM beat, creating a juxtaposition which is unexpected, yet fitting.
With this, Nic conveys the happy-sad moments of a goodbye – saying goodbye to someone you once loved may be a heart-breaking moment, but it can also sometimes be the best thing you could do for yourself. “Goodbyes” are never easy, but they can bring with them new beginnings, new experiences, and new adventures which you never thought possible before.

Since moving to Cape Town in 2018, Nic Jeffrey has grown considerably as a musician. Originally from Johannesburg, the multi-instrumentalist spent his first few years here in Cape Town as singer and guitarist for the band, PHLO. From 2018 to 2020,
