A decade in and three studio albums deep, Matthew Mole returns to the charts with the bitter-sweet single “Goodbye”, all while packing for an extensive European and UK tour in support of this and his rich and mounting body of feted work.
Describing his latest heartfelt, gut-wrenching anthem as a declaration of victory and turning your back on the things that are trying to keep you down, Matthew’s no stranger to seamlessly articulating universal relationship themes and placing them atop arresting melodies.
Matthew Mole comments on “Goodbye”
“We’ve all been through a lot recently and we’ve had to find ways to overcome, so hopefully, this song will be an encouragement to people in difficult circumstances. I believe in the power of declaring victory in the face of adversity and ‘Goodbye’ is an anthem of defiance, punctuated with a confident and convincing arrangement in support of it all.”
“I love the way music speaks to people, and being able to play a small part in creating songs that have a positive impact on people is why I love it. Living and experiencing life is the genesis of every track that comes to me and I’m moved to words by those who encourage me along the way.”
With an international tour now afoot, Matthew’s excited to be getting out, front and centre, to share and get his fix of hearing and seeing people sing along to the songs they love, new and venerable. The words that make up the verses and chorus permeating “Goodbye” come from paying attention to the world around him.
With an eclectic musical palate, Matthew Mole’s perpetual curiosity has seen him and his music evolve and embrace a growing audience keen to connect with music that’s plugged into the creative heart of it all.
As with 2013’s “Take Yours, I’ll Take Mine”, through to the more recent “I’m With You”, all that came before “Goodbye” is a carefully crafted puzzle piece. Each one reveals another facet of Matthew Mole’s gift to create something out of nothing and polish it, leaving fans basking in every one’s infectious glow.
