Singer-songwriter Pedro Barbosa makes a strong return with his latest single, “Go, Let Go”, released today. Following his November 2025 EP Odd One Out, the track introduces a more introspective and emotionally grounded phase in his musical journey.
“Go, Let Go” blends arena pop rock with modern R&B soul influences, highlighting a clear evolution in Pedro’s sound. Produced and mixed by Mark Beling and mastered by Daryl de Lange, the track builds from a place of vulnerability into a powerful, anthemic release.

The progression mirrors the song’s emotional core, moving from quiet reflection to a sense of release and clarity.
At its heart, “Go, Let Go” explores themes of guilt, personal growth and emotional responsibility. The track reflects on a period in Pedro’s life shaped by loneliness and unhealthy coping mechanisms, which often led to hurt for both himself and others.
Rather than focusing on a single moment, the song captures a broader journey of self-awareness and introspection,
Pedro Barbosa explains that the track is about recognising the impact of one’s actions and learning to release what no longer serves a purpose. Letting go, he notes, was not something that came naturally, but understanding that some connections are temporary has been a liberating experience.
The single arrives during a transitional period in Pedro’s life. Following vocal surgery, he is currently unable to perform live, which has shifted his focus toward the digital rollout and storytelling behind the release.
Although it was not initially planned as the next single, “Go, Let Go” ultimately became the most honest reflection of where he is both musically and personally.
Pedro Barbosa is Pushing Creative Boundaries
Sonically, the track explores new territory. While it retains the scale and dynamic build found in earlier songs like “Runaway”, it moves away from intensity driven by frustration and instead leans into a more controlled, cathartic energy.
The recording process also introduced new challenges, particularly in adapting to R&B-influenced vocal techniques that required precision and emotional nuance.
The single is accompanied by a music video directed and conceptualised by Pedro himself. Featuring expressive ballet sequences, the visual explores themes of departure, ambition and emotional conflict.
Partly filmed at Full Spectrum Media Studios in Irene, the video is intentionally open to interpretation. It leaves viewers to decide whether the story reflects a romantic separation or a personal journey of growth. The choreography and editing closely follow the rhythm of the track, enhancing its emotional impact.

“Go Let Go” has to be one of the best South African tracks that I’ve heard in 2026. Pedro puts a lot of emotion into this track and you can definitely hear that. The music video is absolutely stunning as well. Ótimo Pedro!

With “Go, Let Go”, Pedro Barbosa signals a clear step forward in his artistry. The release reflects a deeper level of introspection and a commitment to personal direction.
More music is expected from Pedro Barbosa later this year, with at least two additional releases already in the pipeline. For now, “Go, Let Go” stands as a reminder of the strength required to confront the past and the freedom that comes with moving forward.
