Pichi Keane comments on the track
“I wrote ‘Came Here To Dance’ a couple of years ago, and performed it live to a small audience for the first time with just a ukulele as accompaniment early in 2020. I think it’s fair to say that it had humble beginnings, but I’m in awe of the talent and enthusiasm André brought to this project.”
“He really captured the essence of what I was hearing in my mind, and he encouraged me to take chances with the vocals which has elevated the song as a whole. I’m really excited for listeners to hear it, to feel empowered to take up space and honour their boundaries.”
Producer on the single ‘Came Here To Dance’, André Scheepers is a South African composer and songwriter who has had a hand in many chart-topping songs over the last two decades including hits from Tasha Baxter, Jesse Clegg, Auriol Hays, Johnny Apple, Bobby Van Jaarsveld and Chianosky to name a few.

With a Standard Bank Silver Ovation Award from the National Arts Festival under their belt and sold-out performances along the Garden Route during their solo drag cabaret tour, “Ripe ‘n Ready”, Pichi is a force to be reckoned with.
