Shadowclub: New Single, Video & Album Release Announcement

“Witches Soul”, Shadowclub’s first official single and music video from their forthcoming album release ‘Big Green Mamba Dream’ was released today. Shadowclub have been around for 10 years. The band are excited and is feeling energized.

The 7-track collection of new songs was written, arranged and recorded in between shows over a 3-day stint at Kill City Blues Studios in Cape Town and mixed by drummer Isaac Klawansky.

The result is the evolution of a band that has done a lot of growing up and calming down. Looking to pursue different endeavors, the band took a break from Shadowclub and life on the road.

With a rekindled energy 2 years later, the creation of ‘Big Green Mamba Dream’ happened organically, with the natural ease and enjoyment usually only felt by bands just starting out in the garage.

Shadowclub are no strangers to the South African rock ‘n roll scene

The band won the 2012 SAMA for best rock album with ‘Guns and Money” (an album that included the chart-topping singles “Good Morning Killer” and “Guns & Money”).

The follow up SAMA nominated ‘Goodbye Wild Child” featured the top 40 track “Melanielectriclove”. Back then, the band toured extensively. The headlined every major South African music festival. They also played in Russia, Mozambique, Botswana and Namibia.

Shadowclub are excited to release the new music to their fans

Fans have been waiting eagerly since their ‘Goodbye Wild Child’ release in 2013. The band will be playing a few shows in support of the “Big Green Mamba Dream” release.

Gauteng dates are already confirmed for The Irish Club in Johannesburg (14 December) and Railways Café in Centurion (15 December). Concert dates for the rest of the country will be announced in the near future.

“Big Green Mamba Dream” will be available the 30th of November 2018. The album will be released on CD and on all streaming services. The vinyl will be released in January 2019.

“Witches Soul” is a rocking track that you should definitely crank up

I can’t remember the last time I watched Shadowclub live, but I definitely want to make an effort to check them out again. “Witches Soul” is definitely a track that I want to hear them play live.

“Witches Soul” is a vibey track that will make my day every single time I listen to it. The music video (which was directed by Barry De Villiers of Roundabout Films) is also pretty damn kief.
