Shaun365 Confronts Lies & Heartbreak With “Angisabuyi”

Not every Valentine’s season release tells a love story. DJ and producer Shaun365 takes a more unfiltered route with his new single, “Angisabuyi,” a deeply emotional track about betrayal and the strength it takes to walk away. The song features the rich, expressive vocals and spoken-word presence of Msizi Soul.

“Angisabuyi,” which translates to “I’m not coming back,” is rooted in a real-life experience. The track was inspired by a close friend of Shaun365 who fell in love, got engaged, and believed he had found a lifelong partner – only to uncover infidelity while away for work. Rather than remain in a broken relationship, he chose to leave. That turning point became the emotional core of the song.

Shaun365 explains that the message reaches beyond one person’s experience. The track speaks to anyone who has loved sincerely, trusted completely, and then had to choose self-respect over staying in a relationship damaged by dishonesty.

Afro-Fusion Sound with Emotional Weight

Written and produced by Shaun365, “Angisabuyi” blends Afro-fusion elements with Afro-soul feeling and contemporary African production textures. The result is a track that feels both intimate and widely relatable.

Msizi Soul, a vocalist and poet from Mpumalanga, brings a stripped-back emotional honesty to the record. His performance adds depth and realism, turning the song into a lived narrative rather than a polished studio moment.

Lyrics That Confront Betrayal Directly

The song’s lyrics address the tension, doubt, and emotional distance that often surround betrayal. Through direct and personal lines, the track captures the gradual breakdown of trust and the shock of realizing a partner is no longer who they seemed to be. The writing focuses on confrontation and clarity rather than drama, giving the story weight and authenticity.

You can stream/download the track via Spotify and other streaming platforms.

Shaun365’s Musical Direction

Shaun365 works across Afro-fusion styles, drawing from afro house, afro soul, and afrobeats. His approach as both DJ and producer allows him to move easily between groove-driven production and emotionally focused songwriting.

Originally from eDwaleni in Kabokweni, Mpumalanga, he began his journey in a small village before relocating to Johannesburg to continue his studies and develop his music career. He describes music as more than an interest – a long-term purpose and creative calling.

Previous releases such as “Shwele” and “Genesis” have gained traction on streaming platforms including YouTube and Spotify, helping establish Shaun365 as an artist who pairs strong production with emotional storytelling.

Influenced by South African names like Sjava, Black Coffee, DJ Fresh, and Euphonik, he aims to collaborate locally with artists such as Sjava, Dlala Thukzin, Blaq Diamond, and Zonke, as well as internationally with JP Cooper and Pharrell Williams.

Shaun365 is currently entering a new creative phase, with more collaborations and larger projects in development, including EP releases and a possible full-length album.
