    Top 30 tracks of 2017

2017 has turned out to be a great year for music. This year had its ups and downs, but there has been no shortage of awesome music releases.

2017 challenged us to be a “Beter Mens”, gave us a guide for Africa, a lead role in a classic horror and more

On the South African front, 2017 brought us new releases from Francois Van Coke, Karen Zoid, Jack Parow, Southern Wild, The Tazers, Hellcats, Pollinator, Raygun Royale, Wonderboom and a few others. Oppikoppi line-up haters might disagree with me, but a ton of SA rock music has been released this year – you just have to look in the right places to find it. There’s a Garage Rock revolution happening in SA and you’ve probably missed it.

2017 gave us Highway Tunes, got us asking “How Did We Get So Dark?” and left us Feeling it still…

On the International side of things, 2017 saw new album releases by The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Royal Blood, alt-J, Portugal. The Man, Prophets of Rage and a ton artists. Relative newcomers to the music scene Greta Van Fleet and Nothing But Thieves reminded us that rock is still alive and kicking and not going anywhere in the near future.

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you know that I don’t like beating around the bush, so here are my 30 Top tracks for 2017:
