Australian singer-songwriter Ziggy Alberts has returned with the official music video for his emotionally resonant single “Feeling Blue”, adding another compelling chapter to the rollout of his acclaimed seventh studio album, New Love.
Filmed during a soul-searching surf trip to Cloudbreak, Fiji, the video captures the emotional duality that defines both the song and Alberts’ broader artistic identity—authentic, raw, and rooted in lived experience.

A Song That Mirrors Emotional Growth and Creative Vulnerability
“Feeling Blue” stands out as one of the most intimate tracks on New Love, a record that has marked a new high point in Alberts’ career.
Written during a quiet break between tour legs in Europe, the song draws from deeply personal moments, with Ziggy reflecting on emotional exhaustion, identity, and change.“It’s about being really unhappy—and if you didn’t listen to the lyrics carefully, you maybe wouldn’t know, because the song is upbeat in every other way,” shares Alberts. “That contrast reflects where I was at the time… in a paradox of emotions.”
This candid, self-aware perspective reinforces Alberts’ credibility and trustworthiness as a songwriter. Known for his openness and refusal to shy away from vulnerability, he demonstrates a consistent commitment to emotional honesty, which continues to resonate with fans across the globe.
Visual Storytelling from the Waves of Cloudbreak
Directed by Wilzen Crawford, the music video captures a rare off-grid moment for Alberts—chasing surf and serenity between a demanding tour schedule. The footage showcases Ziggy navigating the wild waters of Cloudbreak, where he describes catching “the biggest wave of my life.” This symbolic experience perfectly mirrors the emotional depth of “Feeling Blue,” offering fans a visual metaphor of risk, release, and reconnection.
“The video captures the essence of the ultimate surf adventure,” Alberts says. “I hope it inspires people to book the trips, chase the experiences, and make the most of what life has to offer.”
