Acer has officially announced the Predator Atlas 8 (PA08-I51), marking a significant expansion of its high-performance gaming portfolio.
As the brand’s first handheld device to carry the prestigious Predator name, it is engineered for serious PC gamers who demand flagship performance and portability.

Powered by the cutting-edge Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and featuring the latest Intel Arc B390 graphics, the device is designed to bridge the gap between desktop-class gaming and handheld convenience.
“With the Predator Atlas 8, we are combining the Predator design philosophy with the power of the new Intel Arc G-Series processors to blur the lines between gaming PC and handheld performance,” said Jerry Kao, Chief Operating Officer at Acer.
The Predator Atlas 8 Features Breakthrough Performance and Cooling Innovation
At the heart of the Predator Atlas 8 lies Intel’s new generation of high-performance graphics, which brings features like ray tracing and AI-powered XeSS 3 upscaling to a portable form factor.
This advanced technology enables smoother frame rates and richer visual fidelity, even during demanding gaming sessions. To manage the thermal output of such a powerful chip, Acer has introduced the industry’s first metal fan in a handheld: the Predator AeroBlade.
The dual-fan cooling system features an 89-blade metal fan that is just 0.1 mm thick, delivering up to a 10 percent increase in airflow.
Complemented by Vortex Flow tuning, which utilizes internal channels to guide heat out of the chassis more efficiently, the system ensures that performance remains sustained and stable even when gameplay demands intensify.
Immersive Display and Ergonomic Control
The device features a vibrant 8-inch WUXGA touchscreen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of peak brightness.
Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC for scratch resistance and glare reduction, the display is optimized for both visual clarity and responsive interaction.
Ergonomics were a primary focus for the design team. The Predator Atlas 8 features a custom control layout, including full-size analog sticks and unique dual-mode triggers.
Users can toggle between a micro-switch mode for instant-click responses in first-person shooters and a Hall-effect analog mode for racing and flight simulators.
Additionally, the device introduces PredatorSense – a cornerstone of Predator gaming laptops – to a handheld for the first time, allowing players to monitor system performance, customize RGB lighting, and adjust settings on the fly.

Connectivity and Ecosystem Integration
Running on Windows 11, the Predator Atlas 8 offers a familiar PC gaming experience, complete with an Xbox Game Pass subscription for immediate access to hundreds of titles. Connectivity is robust and future-proofed, featuring:
- Dual Thunderbolt 4 ports: High-bandwidth support for docking and displays.
- Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4: Ensuring the latest wireless standards for stability and speed.
- UHS-II microSD support: Facilitating fast external storage expansion.
Beyond gaming, the device integrates Acer’s AI-enhanced software suite, including PurifiedVoice for clear communication and PurifiedView for video conferencing, making it a versatile tool for both entertainment and productivity.
The Predator Atlas 8 is scheduled to be available in North America, EMEA, and Australia starting in October 2026. While exact local pricing and configuration options will vary by region, gamers are encouraged to visit the official Acer website for further market-specific details.
