Angie oeh: 13 Interesting Facts You Didn’t Know

Angie oeh made waves in the South African rap scene over the last few years. Sadly she passed away in August 2023.

There’s probably a lot that you don’t know about this Afrikaans female rapper (who made a huge impact on the scene), but today my aim is to change that…

Here are 13 Interesting Facts You Didn’t Know About Angie oeh

1. Her first ever Afrikaans song was released less than one year ago and was titled “Dis jou Wyfie”.  Since then a remix was made featuring Loufi and the song was used on Ludik (a Netflix series which recently dropped). The song went viral on TikTok before it dropped and it’s still Angie oeh’s favourite song.

2. She started out as an English bedroom rapper. But she realized something needed to change and that’s when she started rapping in Afrikaans. It’s the best decision she’s ever made. Angie oeh fell in love with Afrikaans music and all the different sounds it has. There’s a major gap in the industry and she took it. She released 2 EPs, a song with Jack Parow and three music videos.

3. She had the opportunity to collab with the biggest names in Afrikaans music like Loufi, Peach Van Pletzen and Jack Parow.

5. She had tattoos of various naked women on her leg, She called it her “naked lady leg”.

6. Angie oeh collected shoes. After music, fashion is what she did.

7. She didn’t do vegetables.

8. She loved tattoos (besides the fact that she’s a rapper). Angie got her first face tattoo at the age of 18. She used it as motivation to not get stuck in a 9-5 job she might hate.

9. She lived on Monster Energy. She drank like 4 cans a day of it.

10. She had a girlfriend and they were together for about 4 years.

11. Her stage name “Angie oeh” came from her go-to adlib she used, “oeh”.

12. Angie oeh was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on the 14th of August 2023. A backabuddy campaign was was started to assist her with medical costs.

13. Sadly Angie oeh passed away on 19th of August 2023. She was 24 years old.

Rest in peace Angie oeh. You will be missed.
