Layers: Layer Three is more than just an album; it’s a testament to the immense talent that exists within South Africa’s music industry. Carla Franco’s latest release showcases her commitment to spotlighting both established and emerging artists who deserve recognition.

Through collaborations with local talents like Leo Burg, Lokaly, Zebra, Lungelo Moyo, Sebastian, and Pala Chrome, Carla Franco endeavors to draw attention to the wealth of creativity that often goes unnoticed.

Carla Franco comments

“In almost every conversation I have, public and private, related to music, you’ll hear me speaking about how South Africa and the world at large really does not comprehend the talent we have, and we often don’t provide platforms for artists who deserve it, The third drop highlights a lot of artists I respect deeply and are dear to my heart.”

Among the standout collaborations on Layers: Layer Three, fans can look forward to Carla Franco’s partnership with Leo Burg on “Bygones”, a song that originated from Leo’s own album. Lokaly, who serves as the bassist in Carla’s band, contributes his exceptional songwriting skills to “Sugar,” while the electrifying collaboration with Zebra on “Allow Me” promises to be a standout track.

Carla Franco also joined forces with Lungelo Moyo, whom she met at a local live music bar in Pretoria, for the soulful “The Wall.” Sebastian, the rhythmic guitarist for Carla’s band, co-created “Adults,” a song born out of a spontaneous idea during a rehearsal. Pala Chrome, a longstanding collaborator and producer for Carla’s work, teamed up with her under their artist alias for the mesmerizing “Uno.”

Carla Franco comments

“Layers is a statement beyond my own music; it’s a question to the industry at large: why aren’t we focusing on more local artists? Layers is truly a collaborative project that makes me proud to be a musician and proud to be South African.”

With its diverse range of songs, Layers: Layer Three is a joyous and eclectic listening experience. Carla Franco invites fans and music enthusiasts alike to explore this final installment, assuring that there is something for everyone in the album.

Carla Franco comments

“It may not make much sense to many people, but we’re not here to make sense. We’re here to make music we love to listen to and love to create. This is Layers. I have arrived.”

Layers: Layer Three by Carla Franco is available on all major streaming platforms. Don’t miss out on this extraordinary musical journey.
