The song holds deep personal significance for Charlie. “I lost someone close to me in 2025 — not to death, but in the sense that they drifted out of my life. For a long time, I wondered if they ever thought about me, if they still cared or loved me. I just really wanted them to come back.”
Instead of leaning into melancholy, Charlie chose to reshape that emotional weight into something lighter.
“A lot has changed since then, and I didn’t want the song to feel heavy or sad — so it turned into something upbeat and vibrant. That honestly feels right for where I’m at now.”

Charlie brings the track to life with his band, Keep Guessing Charlie, featuring longtime collaborators Shaun Ruysenaar (drums), Andre Feldmann (bass), Louise Cloete (keyboards), and Frank Coerlin (guitar). Overcoming early shyness through open mic nights, he eventually formed projects like Hemisphere and Radio Unfriendly, before establishing Keep Guessing Charlie.
