Friday, 14 April 2023 saw the release of a brand new single named “Honest” from Majozi. “Honest” comes after the release of ‘Safe In The Sound’ in March 2023.
A song about dealing with the ups and downs of life and how we are too ashamed to share how we really feel with each other, “Honest” was written during 2022 when Majozi went into studio whilst experiencing a particularly emotionally challenging day.
The result: A fun and upbeat offering where Majozi intentionally wanted the music to be the polar opposite of what the lyrics are saying, similar to real life conversations where people often say the exact opposite of what they mean.
Majozi comments on “Honest”
“We often say we are fine and put on a smile when sometimes we are actually dying on the inside. But sprinkled amongst the sad lyrics, listeners will find a little hope. If you’re willing to search for it. It’s what I like to do.”
Majozi recently returned to South Africa from America after performing as a Showcasing Artist at the world renowned 2023 SXSW Music Festival. As South African, he joined artists from across the globe and fulfilled his lifelong dream of performing at the festival.
Majozi comments on his SXSW experience
“I’m so grateful for the amazing experience we had at SXSW. I had and awesome team with me ( Ryan Fray and Jude Kenrick), who made the trip so much better. The people we met were amazing, and the things we learnt and got inspired from I hope to take forward into my music and how I approach my career.”
“Safe In The Sound” and “Honest” is the first two new singles from Majozi, who will be treating fans to new music throughout the course of the year.
