Awesome News! Capital Craft is coming to Pretoria on Saturday the 6th of July 2013. It will be held at the Voortrekker Monument and should be one of the social highlights of the year on the Capital City’s calendar.

To my knowledge it’s the first time that a Craft beer festival will be held in Pretoria.  Capital Craft has the potential to become the premium beer festival in Snor City. Capital Craft will bring together old traditions and new experiences. I’m curious to see how the Pretoria crowd embraces this, but I’m pretty sure that it’s going to be a jol of note.

Capital Craft Get Ready for Capital Craft

Punters will be able to sample beers by over 10 different microbrewers at Capital Craft. Some of them are all the way from Darling (in the Western Cape) and the Valley of a 1000 hills (in Kwazulu Natal). If you’re a beer lover, you should not miss out on this one – it promises to be a well-executed and unforgettable experience.

Capital Craft will combine the age-old tradition of drinking beer with new and exciting musical acts. Micro-breweries have fast become the tasty and trendy alternative to commercially brewed beers. There is no doubt in my mind that the painstaking efforts taken to brew and mature these specialist beers can be tasted with each and every sip. I can’t wait to have my first sip of Darling Brew at the event.

If you want to be part of this awesome experience, buy your tickets today because they are selling fast. Visit the Webtickets website to buy your tickets NOW!  Tickets for Capital Craft are priced between R80 and R100 – Early bird tickets have almost sold out. For more info and updates about the event,  check out the Capital Craft Facebook page, follow @capitalcraftpta on Twitter or check out the festival’s official website.

Spread the word about Capital Craft to your friends on Facebook and Twitter. Sharing is caring after all. I’m also pretty sure that your beer loving friends will give you a huge high five if you let them know about it.

Tuks FM 350x343 Tuks FM 107.2 Attempts World Record for the Longest Radio ShowGreat news! Pretoria-based Community station Tuks FM 107.2 is attempting the World Record for the Longest Radio Show. The current World Record is standing at 74 hours and 3 minutes and was set by a UK DJ earlier this year.

Alex Caige and Cassy Clarke (from the Bang Bang Breakfast show) will be settling in to Hatfield Square this coming weekend for the attempt.  The action starts on Friday the 15th of March and Tuks FM 107.2 hopes to stretch it to the 18th of March 2013.  The record is for the longest time to act as a DJ or a continuity announcer during a live radio broadcast.

Tuks FM 107.2 normally broadcasts from the University of Pretoria and is known for producing some of the best talent in the South African media industry, including Gareth Cliff, Liezel van der Westhuizen, Rob Forbes, Kim Schultze and Anele Madoda. The station started broadcasting in 1981.

The Tuks FM 107.2 duo attempting the world record have spent the last month putting together an awesome program that will include a celebration around St Patrick’s Day, a tie in with Idols, chats with former members of the Tuks FM 107.2 crew and visits by some of the leading bands and musicians in the SA Music industry. Both DJs hope to attempt this record again in 2014, even if it means challenging their own best.

The attempt is sponsored by Bioplus and their array of products should be just the thing that the duo needs to make it through the weekend. Tune in to 107.2 FM over this weekend and listen to some great music and to Alex Caige and Cassy Clarke attempting what could be a successful attempt for the World Record for the Longest Radio Show.

Tuks FM 107.2 recently strengthened their signal to 1 KW, so all you Joburgers can listen too. And if you live outside Gauteng: Tuks FM 107.2′s website was recently redone and features online streaming, so you don’t have an excuse.

You can follow @TuksFM1072, @AlexCaige and @cassy_clarke on Twitter for updates throughout the weekend. The official hashtag for the World Record for the Longest Radio Show is #TuksFMRecord.

I know that I’ll be showing my support for Alex Caige and Cassie Clarke this weekend and you should too.  Watch this space for regular updates in the Events category on Running Wolf’s Rant.

This week Wednesday (the 27th of February 2012) the Pretoria’s Most Wanted Comedians show is on at Cafe Barcelona (at Elardus Park Shopping Center).

It will only cost you R30 to attend the show. Most of you reading this have already been paid this month, so you don’t really have an excuse to miss it.

I don’t know if I told you this, but I’m quite a huge fan of South African stand-up comedy. It’s great to see many aspiring comedians making their onto the stage in our country. There is so much talent out there.

Pretoria’s Most Wanted comedians will feature appearances by Ryan Whittal, Francois Van As, Nqoba Ncobo, Ruan Stix Fourie and Willem Van Der Schyf.

It promises to be an evening filled with laughter and awesomeness. If you live in Pretoria and you’re a fan of stand-up comedy you should not miss out on this. The first comedian is up at 8 PM on the night.

Willem van Der Schyf and Ruan Stix Fourie will be making their stand-up comedy debut at Pretoria’s Most Wanted Comedians and I’m really looking forward to hearing what these two Pretorian legends have to tell us mortals. It’s going to be interesting if you ask me.

Check out the Facebook Event Page for more information about this event. See you at Pretoria’s Most Wanted Comedians on Wednesday!
