Award-winning singer-songwriter Louise Carver has unveiled the intimate music video for her latest single, “My Love.”
Offering a heartfelt, nostalgic glimpse into the realities of life as a touring artist, the visual captures the quiet, human moments that happen far away from the stage lights.
Louise Carver is Capturing the In-Between Spaces
Directed by Jiten Ramial, the music video documents the “in-between” spaces of performance. It reveals the road trips, backstage nerves, shared silences, and post-show laughter that define the emotional rhythm of an artist’s life.
“I’ve never released a music video that truly captures what it feels like to be a touring artist,” says Louise. “People see the glamour of standing on stage, but there are all these little moments in between – the conversations with your band, the anxiety before walking on stage, the relief afterwards, and the quietness the next morning. I wanted to show all of it.”
The perfect opportunity to capture this journey arose when Louise was booked to perform on the main stage at the iconic Splashy Fen Music Festival in the Drakensberg.
Shot in Ramial’s signature fast-paced, storytelling style, the video blends lifestyle footage with live performance to create a documentary-style portrait of Louise’s world.

A Journey of Trust and Teamwork
At the emotional heart of “My Love” is Louise Carver’s long-standing musical relationship with her guitarist, collaborator, and producer, Simz Kulla.
Describing him as her “ride or die,” Louise emphasizes the immense trust that defines their creative partnership. The video also features acclaimed drummer Denholm Harding and longtime publicist Melissa Conradie, surrounding Louise with the genuine warmth of her trusted team.
In addition to the festival footage, the video invites viewers inside the recording studio at Audio Militia, where Louise has forged a deep creative bond with Garrick Jones and Simz Kulla – a space that proved instrumental in the creation of her recent SAMA-winning album, Dark Secrets.
A Love Letter to the Journey
Beyond the excitement of live performance, the video uncovers the deeply human side of touring, including the quiet, less glamorous aftermath of a big show.
An unexpected but fitting partner for the road trip from Johannesburg to Underberg was Leapmotor, which provided the comfort and reliability needed for the long drive to the Drakensberg.
For Louise Carver, “My Love” is a love letter to the people, places, and experiences that have shaped her career. “It’s a video I’m incredibly proud of because it shows a real slice of my life,” Louise Carver reflects. “When I look around at the people in it and the adventures we’re having together, I like what I see. It reminds me that I’m genuinely enjoying the journey.”
