Cape Town pop-rock powerhouse Erin Elliot has joined forces with rising star Sophia Frank for a sizzling new single that is anything but innocent. Their latest track, “Birthday Cake,” arrives with a wink, a laugh, and bold, unapologetic female energy, blending cheeky storytelling with playful defiance.
From the very first verse, “Birthday Cake” feels like a late-night gossip session between best friends. Lyrics such as “Girls I’ve got a secret, pinky promise that you’ll keep it” set the tone for a song that is playful, daring, and unafraid to flip the script on how women discuss love, sex, and desire.
With infectious hooks, tongue-in-cheek lyrics, and a chorus that will have fans shouting “We didn’t even eat the birthday cake,” the single is designed to turn heads and spark conversation.
To turn up the energy even further, Erin Elliot and Sophia Frank are releasing a full music video for “Birthday Cake,” bringing the story to life on screen. The visuals match the song’s sass, chaos, and fun, creating a perfect complement to the track.
Musically, “Birthday Cake” channels Erin’s signature 2000s-inspired pop-rock sound while adding Sophia’s fresh edge. The collaboration is both sweet and explosive, radiating rebellious confidence and fun. It proves that women writing about desire on their own terms is not just powerful, it is irresistible.
“Birthday Cake” is more than a song – It’s a Statement
“Birthday Cake” is more than just a song. It is a statement piece that solidifies Erin Elliot and Sophia Frank as rising pop stars on the South African scene while hinting at a future beyond local stages.
Following the successful launch of Pretty Loud, the female-led creative ecosystem reshaping the SA music industry, “Birthday Cake” carries even greater significance.
As co-founder of Pretty Loud, Erin is leading the charge in redefining spaces for women in music. Sophia, as a member, represents the next wave of fearless talent the platform empowers. Their collaboration is a living example of community, sisterhood, and the power of women lifting each other up.
“‘Birthday Cake’ is cheeky, it is messy, it is fun, but it is also a reminder that women can talk about sex and desire without shame. That is the energy Pretty Loud embodies: fearless, female-driven, and impossible to ignore,” says Erin.
