Today sees the release of the video for the hit “Crystal Ball”, the latest single by Springbok Nude Girls. The video was shot, directed, and edited by renowned artist and sculptor Lionel Smit, who worked on both the “Emerging Submarines” and Rolling Thunder videos.
The South African rock icons recently released their new, highly anticipated album Partypocalypse. It’s their first new studio recording in 13 years and has already been hailed as their best release to date by fans, peers, and media alike.
According to Texx and The City “The scene is much-changed since Springbok Nude Girls crashed onto it in the ’90s, but they’re still a potent voice in hard rock.”
Lead vocalist Arno Carstens explains “Crystal Ball”
“Crystal Ball is about how troubled relationships spawn unpredictable futures and emotional turmoil. Lionel Smit successfully captured the dark ambiance of the song.”

“Crystal Ball” is a breath of fresh air in the SA rock scene. It’s definitely one of my favourite tracks of 2021. The future of SA rock is bright and it looks like everything is going to be okay.
The official album launch show is taking place tomorrow night (the 2nd of October) at The Daisy Jones Bar in Stellenbosch with special guests Ethyl Ether. Although VIP and general tickets are sold out the show will be streamed live so fans worldwide can still join the Partypocalypse.
