Pretoria based four-piece Them Dirty Shrikes have released their long awaited single “Trip & Fall” today. After the release of their debut EP ‘Heads or Tails’ the band had a busy 2018 playing at festivals such like Misty Waters Music Festival, Oppikoppi and the Durban International Blues Festival.
After the success of ‘Heads or Tails’ a lot of their supporters urged them to record again, and they came back with exactly what the crowd wanted: “Trip & Fall”.

Them Dirty Shrikes Vocalist Soné Briel talks about “Trip & Fall”
“It was a wonderful opportunity to work with Jaco and Jacob on making Trip & Fall happen. Jaco is amazing at what he does. He really went above and beyond to get the single to sound as great as possible. We couldn’t imagine it any other way, and we’re extremely excited to finally release it.”

“Trip & Fall” handles the subject of bad luck and how it could drive you insane, mentioning superstition and how some people just can’t seem to escape a twisted fate and should thus watch where they’re going and what they’re doing.
“Trip & Fall” was recorded and mixed by Jaco Naudé at Audio Culture and mastered by Jacob van der Westhuizen at Westenhaus Mastering. Artwork was done by Soné Briel.

I have to admit that this is one of coolest tracks that I’ve heard from a Pretoria band in 2019. I really hope that Them Dirty Shrikes release more music in the near future. Come on guys! Give us a full album!
