The Vodacom Player 23 advert was released earlier in 2009 and introduces the South African public to Jan (Malcolm Ferreira) the South African rugby supporter or Player 23. The advert also features South African musician Robbie Wessels.
This is definitely one of the best adverts so far of the year. I’m sure that this is one of those adverts that Vodacom can follow up with another with the same theme.
As part of their rugby union sponsorship portfolio, Vodacom has been the title sponsor of the Super Rugby tournament in South Africa since 1996. In football, they sponsor two clubs in the Premier Soccer League: Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
