South African-born, Europe-based singer-songwriter Alice Phoebe Lou unveils her latest single, “Darling,” ahead of her sixth studio album, Oblivion, set for release on October 24 via Nettwerk Music Group. The track radiates warmth and sincerity, with every acoustic note echoing her signature pen-to-paper authenticity.

Lou describes “Darling” as “the most typical love song on the album, written with hearts in my eyes, full of optimism about life and the future.

It’s a somewhat delusional place that we can be in for a moment, where we think that everything will just work out and love will prevail. It’s like floating between two storms, momentarily forgetting all hardships and difficulties, and just focusing on how sweet and warm it can feel to be in love.”

Alice Phoebe Lou’s Oblivion is a Personal Musical Journey

Oblivion is a deeply personal record, offering a stripped-back glimpse into Lou’s global and internal explorations. Following 2023’s Shelter, the album highlights her evolution toward minimalistic instrumentation that puts her storytelling front and center.

Alice Phoebe Lou explains, “Instead of overthinking the outcome and the judgment, these songs are just creating for myself, a coming home. Oblivion is a place where you can forget what others see in you and find your true essence.”

The album includes previously released singles “You and I,” “The Surface,” “Old Shadows,” and “Pretender,” marking her first self-produced releases and signaling a new creative era.

Upcoming Shows and Touring Highlights

In support of Oblivion, Lou announces a special New York show at Bowery Ballroom on October 19, with tickets going on sale soon. Earlier this spring, she played three sold-out nights at The Lodge Room in Los Angeles before joining Remi Wolf at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

She is currently touring with her musical project strongboi in support of Men I Trust. In 2024, Lou toured with Clairo on the intimate Charm Tour while headlining her own shows.

A Sound Both Intimate and Ethereal

Oblivion sees Alice Phoebe Lou embracing simplicity and vulnerability. Moving away from layered production, her songs float over acoustic strums, creating the feeling of being present in the same room as her reflective lyrics. Melodies loop dreamlike, harmonies drift weightlessly, and her voice shines with quiet intensity.

Recorded at Berlin’s La Pot Studio and co-produced by longtime collaborators Ziv Yamin and Dekel Adin, the album balances subtlety and spotlight moments, creating a space where emotional honesty takes precedence.

Exploring Vulnerability Through Music

Across Oblivion, Alice Phoebe Lou transforms uncertainty and introspection into strength, guiding listeners through both her own inner landscapes and their personal reflections. “These songs are coming from the darker places in yourself, that place of holding something inside and then letting it go, even if it’s embarrassing or vulnerable,” she explains. “Oblivion leans into the idea of allowing yourself to let things overflow in order to feel them, work through them, and come out on the other side.”

Alice Phoebe Lou invites fans to journey through Oblivion, offering an intimate, luminous path of emotional exploration, leaving listeners both moved and empowered.
