Just a few months after the release of her eighth single, the talented singer-songwriter Carla Strauss is back in the spotlight with a brand-new song that promises to capture the hearts and attention of listeners of all ages.

“When August Comes”, an upbeat pop track co-produced with Ludwig Bouwer, offers an intimate look at her personal journey and the regret she feels about a time in her life when she wasn’t true to herself and who she really is.

“This song is the closest thing to a pop track in my repertoire,” Carla Strauss shares “It’s about a time in my life when I tried to be someone else to be accepted, and how I now regret that phase. I changed myself to gain someone else’s approval, but over time I realized that I never loved him – I just wanted to be like him.”

Symbolically, the title holds deep meaning for the singer. “It’s a reference to the name of the person the song is about,” Strauss explains. “To me, it feels very poetic, almost as if I’m speaking directly to him.”

“When August Comes” follows the success of her previous release, More Than Myself, which was well-received and can still be heard on the radio.

The musician believes that the emotions captured in her latest single will resonate with many people. “I think the feelings I express in the song are very universal. I’m sure everyone can relate to the feeling of changing yourself to be accepted.”

More info about Carla Strauss

Carla Strauss made her debut at the age of 16 with Midnight Train and has since achieved numerous milestones. One of her popular tracks, Break my Bones, was even covered by a French artist.

She was also part of the group One Voice, which released a successful album in 2019. In 2020, they collaborated on an anti-bullying song for the Child Protection Hotline, I Will, which Carla recorded and released in 2022 alongside Kalinka Kilian.

Currently, she is focusing full-time on her music, alongside her job as an office manager. A while ago, she left her au-pair position and moved in with her boyfriend.

“I feel like I’m stepping into a new chapter of my life. It’s exciting and a little scary, but I’m looking forward to what’s next,” she shares.

This versatile artist is already working on her next song, which she plans to release early next year, and she continues to hone her musical skills while also caring for her bonsai trees – a new hobby she thoroughly enjoys.

With “When August Comes”, Carla Strauss once again showcases her incredible talent for capturing deep emotions in music that captivates listeners.

The song is now available on Spotify and all major digital streaming platforms.
