Cape Town based Afro Pop band Stone Jets have released a brand new EP entitled Memory. It’s definitely one of the most anticipated South African Music releases of 2018.

Stone Jets had a lot to say in their previous offering, What I Say (in 2016). They are back with seven tracks that now provide some inside scoop into their musical modus operandi. Given on bass and lead vocals together with Manfred on lead guitar rounded up by Eduan Joubert on drums, need not introduce themselves anymore.

Their sound is one now synonymous with phrases like; “South African Pop”, “AfroPop” and one might even dare say “Kwela Soul”. They call their latest body of work Memory, “a worthy step away from the ever present now”. Recognizable singles “I Can’t Live Without You” and “How Can You” are pieces found on this musical mosaic they have crafted.

Stone Jets invite you to enjoy the luxury of opening up this time capsule and
step away from the demanding nature of living in the now. Without further ado they
present to you; Memory.

Stone Jets have been around since 2013 and have performed alongside musicians like Hugh Masekela and Majozi. You can catch Stone Jets live at these venues/festivals in July / August 2018…

Stone Jets - Memory Tour

You can stream Memory on Spotify and all the other major streaming platforms. I had a quick listen to it this morning and I have to admit that it’s really good. Prepare to be transported to a tranquil place in your mind. You will not be disappointed.

If you’re going to Oppikoppi this year, make sure that you catch them live. Keep your eyes open and your ears on the ground to find out when they’re playing at this year’s festival.
