Following the deeply personal impact of her 2025 debut EP Still Me, Relebogile Mabotja returns with Still Me – Live, a powerful live recording that captures the essence of the original project in its most raw and expressive form. The new EP arrived on all major streaming platforms on 27 February 2026.
On the eve of the release, Relebogile hosted the Still Me – Live launch event in Sandton on 26 February. The star-studded evening drew leading figures from the entertainment industry, tastemakers, and members of the media.

More than just a celebration of new music, the event honoured the journey behind this next chapter of her artistry.
Guests experienced an intimate live performance where the original recordings were reimagined in a rich, immersive setting. The performance highlighted the emotional depth of the music while giving audiences a closer look at the heart behind the project.
A Deeper Expression of Vulnerability
While Still Me first introduced audiences to a more vulnerable side of Relebogile’s artistry, Still Me – Live takes that honesty even further.
Backed by a full live band, the EP brings new dimension and warmth to the original songs. Jazz, soul, gospel, and R&B influences flow naturally through the live arrangements, allowing each track to breathe and evolve in real time.
Songs such as “Still Me,” “I’ll Find My Way,” and “Mmamogoai’s Prayer” take on renewed emotional weight in the live format. The performances invite listeners into a shared space where reflection, healing, and celebration exist side by side.
A Journey Back to Self
For Relebogile, the live recording represents far more than a reinterpretation of existing songs. It reflects a deeply personal journey of identity, faith, and healing.
She describes the process of returning to herself as both challenging and deeply fulfilling. The themes explored throughout Still Me – Live centre on love, vulnerability, gratitude, and the recognition that personal growth rarely happens in isolation.
According to Relebogile, the project is also rooted in acknowledging the spiritual foundation that guides her life and career. Faith, family, and the legacy of those who came before her all play an important role in shaping the music.
She reflects on the idea that healing is rarely neat or easy. At times it can feel messy and uncomfortable, yet it can also lead to grounding, affirmation, and peace. The live recording, she explains, captures that journey in its most honest form.
Music Taking Centre Stage
Although Relebogile Mabotja has built a successful career across broadcasting, production, and entertainment, this new chapter makes one thing clear: music is no longer a quiet passion waiting in the background.
With Still Me – Live, she continues to pursue music with intention and authenticity. The project reinforces that her musical voice is an essential part of her broader creative identity.
Rather than reinventing herself, Relebogile presents a version of her artistry that feels refined and reaffirmed. The project stands as a reminder of who she has always been at her core.
Still her. Still grounded. Still Me.
It’s a Lifelong Musical Journey for Relebogile Mabotja
Relebogile’s connection to music began at just five years old, when she first started singing in choirs, barbershop groups, and stage productions. Her talent soon earned her opportunities to represent both her province and South Africa, receiving music and choir colours during her school years.
Over time, she became widely respected as a performer and musician, later serving as a judge, adjudicator, and music director on major platforms such as Idols South Africa, Clash of the Choirs, and the National Eisteddfod.
The global shutdown in 2020 created an unexpected turning point. With the world paused, Relebogile found the time and space to create music for herself. Late-night Zoom sessions, WhatsApp voice notes, and collaborative writing with producer Chad Alexander helped shape the songs she had long carried within her.
A dream collaboration with longtime friend RJ Benjamin followed, and the project concluded with a gospel medley inspired by her late grandmother. These deeply personal recordings eventually became her debut EP, Still Me.
Relebogile Mabotja says the project was first and foremost something she created for herself. At the same time, she hopes listeners will find pieces of their own stories within the music.
The release is distributed through Labelheaded, a new company focused on providing personalised label services that support independent artists.
Founded by industry veterans Wendy Verwey Bekker and Ian Bredenkamp, Labelheaded works with a select group of artists, labels, and managers to help build sustainable careers in the music industry.
By prioritising independence and strategic support, the company aims to empower artists to grow while maintaining creative control over their work.
With Still Me – Live, Relebogile Mabotja invites audiences once again into her world, offering music that is honest, reflective, and deeply human.
