Tarian Releases New Single: “Where Do You Feel It?”

UK artist Tarian is set to make his return in Spring 2025 with what promises to be his most introspective and emotionally charged release so far. His latest single captures the quiet yet relentless nature of internal struggle, delivered through a powerful, existential, poem-like track.

Exploring Inner Battles with “Where Do You Feel It?”

Titled “Where Do You Feel It?”, Tarian’s new single delves deep into themes of identity, shame, and mental health. Loosely fitting into the alternative hip hop genre, the song’s driving beat and wistful melody prompt listeners to reflect: Where do we feel these invisible burdens? Are they simply in our heads?

Tarian

Nautical Imagery and Emotional Drift

Drawing inspiration from his coastal upbringing, Tarian uses nautical imagery to express feelings of aimlessness and isolation. He portrays himself as a shipping boat caught in a storm — close to shore yet still lost — painting a haunting picture of uncertainty and loneliness.

Contrasting Styles Reflect Inner Conflict

The track’s shifting dynamics mirror the emotional struggle at its heart. A softer, reflective chorus — “Where do you feel it? In your head?” — provides a moment of calm introspection, while the rapped verses introduce a raw, intense energy. These contrasting elements represent the two sides of Tarian’s internal battle: quiet reflection clashing with harsh self-criticism.

“I wanted to express the relentlessness of battling your own mind,” Tarian explains. “The feeling of holding everything together on the outside, while inside you’re on a knife’s edge. The nautical metaphor felt right — being adrift, just shy of safety, and unsure if you’ll make it to shore.”

Masculinity, Pride, and the Weight of Vulnerability

Themes of masculinity, pride, and emotional suppression run deeply throughout the track, aligning “Where Do You Feel It?” with today’s broader cultural conversations. The stark imagery of a patient enduring clinical ‘bedside manner’ highlights the discomfort of vulnerability, while Tarian’s introspective writing captures the isolating burden of shame.

A Milestone Live Performance

Tarian recently marked a significant milestone with his first official UK show — an event long awaited by his growing fanbase. First gaining recognition through his collaboration with Frankie Stew and Harvey Gunn on the track “Half of Mine,” he took to the stage at the iconic Half Moon Putney in London on Monday, 21 April.
