Following the explosive release of her rock-pop single “Stupid”, South African singer-songwriter Alex Solomon has dropped a bold new visualiser that captures the raw, rebellious spirit of the track. Now available on YouTube, the visual gives fans an unfiltered glimpse into the chaos and charisma behind her latest anthem.
“The song was a happy accident,” Solomon shares. “So it felt right to capture that same spontaneity in the visual. We didn’t overthink it—it’s just me, the music, and a whole lot of attitude.”
The stripped-back approach reflects the track’s impulsive origin and high-energy vibe, making the visual feel authentic and electric.

A bold new sound
With punchy guitar riffs, catchy hooks, and tongue-in-cheek lyrics, “Stupid” marks a confident shift in Solomon’s sound. Known for emotional ballads like “Typical You”, the Plettenberg Bay-born artist now channels early Miley Cyrus and Olivia Rodrigo—while keeping her unique style front and centre.
Alex Solomon is just getting started
“I’m having the most fun I’ve had in years,” says Solomon. “The visualiser is just another way of sharing that energy with my audience. And trust me—this is just the beginning.”
With more music on the way, “Stupid” sets the tone for an exciting new chapter in her career.
