DrumbossMusik artist Jey Charles is back, and he’s brought the heat. His new single “Ungabayeki” sees him reuniting with trusted collaborators Heavy-K, Dlala Thukzin, and Vincii 929 for a stirring 3Step anthem that’s as emotionally resonant as it is rhythmically compelling.

This latest track isn’t just another release – it’s a personal mission statement. “Ungabayeki” channels the grit and resilience it takes to break generational cycles, hustle through hard times, and build a legacy worth passing on. It’s a deeply reflective piece rooted in Jey’s own experiences, his fight to rise, and his dreams for a better future.

A Growing 3Step Legacy

“Ungabayeki” marks the third 3Step collaboration between Jey Charles and Heavy-K, following the success of “Kuningi” and “HambaNathi.”

This time, the duo expands their sonic universe with the help of Dlala Thukzin’s signature rhythms and Vincii 929’s atmospheric production.

The result is a layered, emotive track that blends raw lyricism with musical depth. Jey pours his vision and drive into every word, crafting a soundtrack for anyone grinding toward change. It’s not just a song – it’s a message of perseverance.

More info about Jey Charles

Jey Charles is a South African singer, songwriter, and producer carving out a distinct voice in the Afro House and 3Step music scenes.

Known for his soulful, genre-fusing style, he first caught attention with early hits like “Never Let Go” and the energetic “Kyashisa” featuring DJ Spura.

His journey has been marked by powerful collaborations, from working with Mapara a Jazz on “Amaketang” to teaming up with Gaba Cannal on “Bazodela.”

His feature on “Kuyabongwa” with Kay Sibiya in 2023 showcased his ability to merge traditional iGwijo vocals with modern Afro House – a clear sign of his artistic range and deep respect for musical heritage.

In 2024, he kept the momentum going with tracks like “iPhone” (with Heavy-K and Essa Kay) and the spiritually charged “Kuningi.” These releases paved the way for “Ungabayeki” – a song that reflects Jey Charles’s unwavering commitment to resilience, legacy, and storytelling through sound.
