Led by the charismatic vocalist Siphe The Captain, Zebra is a powerhouse collective of exceptionally talented musicians. Alongside Siphe, the band comprises Wim Die Blixem on lead guitar and lead vocals, Nacho Steez as a back-up singer, rapper, and vibe maker, Dingane on drums, and Dr. Du holding it down on bass.

Additionally, Zebra boasts a vibrant brass section consisting of MK, Pro, and Thabo, who add an extra layer of dynamism to their performances.

“Melissa” is about a drunk alter ego that forgets all of her responsibilities and only focuses on living in the moment. Furthermore it’s dedicated to girls not being able to fully enjoy themselves while on a night out due to societal standards and the dangers or judgments they might face. The song is from the perspective of a guy who whole heartedly loves “Melissa” for who she is.
The band’s ability to seamlessly blend various genres is evident throughout the song, resulting in a refreshing and exhilarating listening experience. “Melissa” was recorded by the one and only Jaco Naude who did a wonderful job at captivating the live sound of Zebra.
