The Nando’s Diversity TV Advert is Hillarious

Yes folks, Nando’s have done it again. And this time they are tackling Xenophobia in their newest TV advert entitled “Diversity”. For the people who are outside South Africa that did not know, South Africa is a truly diverse nation, with 11 official languages. We’re one of the most diverse countries in the world.

The advert is cheeky and provocative and asks viewers the question “You know what’s wrong with South Africa?”. In the advert Cameroonians, Congolese, Pakistanis, Somalians, Ghanaians and Nigerians are eradicated, as well as other “non-native” South Africans like Afrikaners, Europeans, Indians, Sothos, Vendas and others. Nando’s are on the ball with this and they are saying it in a tongue-and-cheek style, which is totally brilliant (if you ask me).

The new ad is part of Nando’s #Diversity campaign

Where the flame-grilled chicken brand forces South Africans to question xenophobia and intolerance. Nando’s have teamed up with non-profit volunteer group, Cheesekids, to “create pop-up soup kitchens” in parts of South Africa that have been affected by xenophobia, “to walk the talk in galvanising our message of creating dialogue between the diverse”.

The advertisement is aimed at addressing a social ill and Nando’s approach is one that seeks to have South Africans take a stand against these prejudices by encouraging them to embrace the diverse inhabitants of their country.

This is the brand new Nando’s Diversity advert:

This is probably the best TV advert I’ve seen in 2012. There are not that many brilliant adverts on SA TV nowadays. What do you think of this advert? Drop me a comment and let me know what you think. Feedback is appreciated and welcome on Running Wolf’s Rant.

This is the best ad period. Despite what SABC says it actually made me think and realize how pathetic the xenophobia issue is and yes “Real South Africans love diversity”.
