Fifteen years after the breakout success of “Feel for Life”, Cape Town-born artist Roeshdien Jaz—affectionately known as Mr Jaz—returns with a smooth, dancefloor-ready single titled “Fleeting Romance.”

Teaming up once again with award-nominated producer Ebrahim Mallum, this vibrant new track blends Nu-Disco, Funk, House, and Electronic Dance elements with his signature soul-infused vocals.

Roeshdien Jaz: A Decade and a Half of Soul, Rhythm, and Global Reach

Since first captivating audiences in 2010 with hits like “Feel for Life” and “Perfect Mood” (a duet with Monique Hellenberg, the iconic voice behind Goldfish’s “This Is How It Goes”), Roeshdien Jaz has remained a consistent voice in South Africa’s diverse music landscape. “Feel for Life” became a chart mainstay, spending 13 weeks on Heart FM’s SA Top 10, including three weeks at #1.

Its reach extended well beyond local airwaves, picking up international spins in the UK and Thailand, and marking Roeshdien Jaz as a globally recognised South African artist.

His performance journey began at just 10 years old, taking the stage in the musical Bugsy Malone alongside SA entertainers Jody Abrahams and Emo Adams. Over the years, he has built a reputation for genre-bending versatility, fusing pop, R&B, jazz, and electronic influences into a sound that’s as timeless as it is innovative.

“Fleeting Romance” – A Modern Anthem with a Vintage Heart

“Fleeting Romance” is Roeshdien Jaz’s first official radio release since the 2020 international remix of “Want What You Can’t Have”, which featured powerhouse Cape Town emcee Ej Von Lyrik of Godessa fame.

In early 2024, he also released the EP Legends Never Die, which included the heartfelt duet “Perfect Mood” with Monique Hellenberg—bringing his sound full circle while continuing to evolve.

Now, with “Fleeting Romance”, Roeshdien Jaz explores the ephemeral magic of modern love, capturing both the intensity and impermanence of a passionate connection. The track is rich in layered production, nostalgic vibes, and soulful storytelling—hallmarks of both Roeshdien Jaz’s and Mallum’s approach to music-making.

The Production Legacy of Ebrahim Mallum

The single’s producer, Ebrahim Mallum, is a seasoned industry heavyweight whose production credits date back to the mid-90s.

A sought-after name in South African music, Mallum has worked with major artists including Loyiso Bala, Danny K, Gang of Instrumentals, Craig Lucas, Jimmy Nevis, RJ Benjamin, Paxton, Zolani, and many others.

His portfolio includes Metro FM and SAMA nominations, as well as chart-topping hits and music featured across commercials, TV specials, and even international video game soundtracks.

His collaboration with Roeshdien Jaz on “Fleeting Romance” is yet another testament to his ability to blend classic musicality with cutting-edge production.

Looking Ahead

With a career that blends global experience, cross-genre experimentation, and deep cultural roots, Roeshdien Jaz continues to redefine his artistry in 2025. “Fleeting Romance” is not just a new single—it’s a celebration of a 15-year journey, a nod to the past, and a confident step into the future.

Available now on all digital platforms, “Fleeting Romance” offers longtime fans and new listeners alike a reason to turn the volume up and feel the rhythm of Mr Jaz once again.
